HALIFAX, N.S. — The Hurricanes evened up their series against the Cape Breton Highlanders on Sunday at Scotiabank Centre with a convincing 110-84 win.
The Hurricanes led from end to end Sunday, holding the Highlanders below 20 points in every quarter but one, and led by as much as 30 points at one point in the third quarter.
Great Hurricanes defence limited the Highlanders to just 39 per cent shooting, while four Hurricanes scored in double figures to power the Halifax offence.
Jordan Washington had a game-high 30 points to go with seven rebounds, two steals and a block.
Terry Thomas followed up his 33-point Game 1 performance with a 24-point, seven rebound outing on Sunday.
Chadrack Lufile got the start and scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds and Rhamel Brown scored 10 points and grabbed nine boards.
The series continues on Monday in Cape Breton at Centre 200. Game 3 will start a 7 p.m. Fans can watch live on www.NBLCLive.ca.
If necessary, the series will return to Halifax on Saturday, March 13 for a Game 5.
